Skydiving Formation Planner V4.00

Skydiving Formation Planner V4.00 Run the application HERE
When I started jumping (July 3rd 1987) there was two ways in which to plan a formation skydive. One was to sit down with pen and paper and draw little stick characters that would more often than not end up all different sizes with super long arms the further away from the base you got (still doing that today;)

The other method was to use a Magnetic Skydiving Board, which as the names suggests was a metal board painted blue with little red and white skydivers cut from flexible magnetic plastic that you could push around. I'm not actually sure what these were called on the packet, so until someone lets me know I'll go with Magnetic Skydiving Board.

Magnetic Skydiver Board

They have stopped making these Magnetic boards a long time ago and I never managed to get hold of one although I still hope to find one some day. In the mean time I thought I would have ago at making one or at least a virtual one.

Well thanks to all the people that got back to me about this project, I have now incorporated some of their ideas in Version 3. The main changes apart from the colour change are you can now edit the text on each block and random, this means you can delete all my 'dyslexic' ramblings and add what ever you want.

A further plan to this will be the ability to have more than one note sets available. This would enable each team member to write their own specific notes and select them as required and of course it would give you the opportunity to swap with other teams etc. I have also added the exit line up, this opens as a small window which can be dragged around the screen as required. The best screen resolution for this program is 1024 x 768 and above.

If the program fails to run the auto-installer then browse to the extracted files and double click on the Setup.exe

If the program fails during the install, go to 'Add and Remove Programs' and run the Remove option
(if necessary) before trying again. Re-installing the latest Flash player can fix animation issues.

The Turbolet 410 and Skyvan are on the drawing board at the moment and everything done so far is still in the Beta stage as I'm still trying to workout how to scale down the specs (speed, lift etc) of the full sized aircraft and the photos (Thanks to Tony Danbury) have not rendered as well as I would have liked. I will re-do the Control Tower as soon as I get some better pictures of it so keep checking back....
